“What greater gift than the love of a cat” Charles Dickens

Testimonials

I lost my 17-year-old best friend, Rita Mae, in early January. I had planned to not even think about getting another cat for at least a year. But the loneliness of not having her with me in the evenings to jump up on the bed and purr and cuddle was too much to take. So, by mid-February, I began looking around for another cat to adopt (in fact, I was determined to adopt TWO cats so that they could provide company for each other.)

I had been to three other places before I went to Yesterdays’ Kittens. The moment I walked in the door, I knew it was different than the other shelters and foster homes I had visited. There was an air of joy in the room – cats romping around, with lots of climbing areas and stimulating toys and playthings. Some of them came immediately to the door to greet me, others tousled with each other in corners, still others were dozing through the commotion!

Among the many things I love about the three – yes, THREE! – cats I adopted from Yesterdays’ Kittens is how very adaptable and well adjusted they are. Coming from Karen’s environment, where they co-existed with dogs, ferrets, and finches, these three walked right into our home and immediately made themselves comfortable (one was shy at the start but she has since blossomed into a very happy girl!) By the second night, they were all three sleeping in the bed with us. One of the boys has become best buddies with my husband, as well as our 11-year-old Dobie-Lab mix, who has never had a cat friend in his life – now he and Sonny nap together!!

I cannot recommend Yesterdays’ Kittens highly enough. What Karen and Bonnie do there with these cats is beyond special – they offer for adoption cats that have already experienced what it is to be loved and cared for, which makes it so much easier for the kitties to then move on to their forever homes! Feel free to email me if you need any more assurance that this is the place to adopt from (nancy.mclees@comcast.net).

Sunny has made himself right at home. Poking his nose into every corner and crawl space. Staying awake all night exploring. Sunny is trying to make friends with Nancy's dog. The dog couldn't care less but Sunny is determined. Sunny has bonded with Nancy's husband, Jack. According to Nancy, Sunny and Jack love to play.
